Artwork for Play Opening Night

Personal Project

In addition to creating the key art for the stage production A Prayer for the Infidel, I was invited to participate in the Kaleidoscope exhibition, a companion showcase that called on artists to create original work inspired by the theme of revolution. Selected pieces were featured during the play's opening night celebration.

Artists were asked to interpret the theme through the lens of a revolutionary figure while working within a prescribed color palette. I chose to honor Harriet Tubman, whose extraordinary courage, resilience, and commitment to freedom continue to inspire generations.

To produce the final artwork within a limited budget, I developed a creative fabrication process by printing the illustration in letter-sized sections on a home printer and meticulously assembling each piece by hand using decoupage techniques. The completed work was mounted on a 48" × 36" canvas, resulting in a large-scale mixed-media installation that demonstrates both creative problem-solving and attention to craftsmanship. The scale comparison shown below highlights the finished piece and the precision required to construct it.
